“Training of intellectual challenged youth by Karama Foundation” was a great activity that we are proud of.

More than 20 young man & woman were assessed & trained by 4 social workers and three trainers on the basic principles of inlay.

Trainees showed astonishing level of enthusiasm and commitment to the training that they usually refused to have breaks for their lunch break to continue with the training.

10 youth with intellectual disability, including 1 female completed the training. The female is the first female with intellectual disability to be trained on inlay in Egypt.

Karama foundation

Karama foundation for Social and Cultural Development was founded in 2016 as the developmental arm of GebRaa social enterprise. Karama aims at safeguarding Egyptian intangible cultural heritage, focusing on handicrafts at risk of disappearing, through helping to achieve economic, social and cultural development for artisans by preserving, promoting, enhancing crafts at risk, and transmitting their know-how to younger generations.
